Once the ball is on the green all that is required is you put the ball in the hole and move to the next hole. Although this seems easy as there is not much distance between your ball and the hole, many golfers have a hard time in finishing off a hole. Here are some tips you can try out. 1. Try putting only using one hand. This is done by only using your training hand to do the putting, practice this drill with 12 balls. With this drill you are able to focus on your palm while it moves towards the cup. Now, try the same drill with your target hand. Try to emphasize on your back hand as it moves towards the cup. As you are practicing this, you need to pay close attention to the toe of the putter during follow through. If the toe of your putter points at the cup or turns away from it, then you are turning your hand. You will know when the putt is correct as the putters face will be square to the cup. 2. For this drill you will first need to practice putting with your eyes open at about 15 to 45 feet from the hole. Once you manage to putt the balls with eyes open try putting with one eye closed. Allot of golfers currently do this in order to keep their head down, to prevent premature lifting of their head. Once you have mastered it with one eye closed go ahead and try it with both eyes closed. Yes it is going to make it harder to see exactly where your ball is going. But, according to research there is less interference with the brain and muscle control system when the eyes are closed. Because your eyes are closed the emphasis is placed on the hands to guide your ball into the hole. And the way you will know if the ball goes in is, by simply listening for that magic sound when the ball drops.
